Ulster Carpets Global Success
Local company, Ulster Carpets, who are a world leader in the manufacture and export of high-quality carpets to the world’s most prestigious venues, has saved thousands of pounds whilst working in international markets with the help of Barclay Communications Mobile Device Management software.
After winning a large contract in Dubai fitting out Palms Casino, Ulster Carpets were concerned about managing their worldwide telecoms expenses.
The Palms Casino is just one in a long list of projects for Ulster Carpets in the Middle East. Clients include the Sofitel Dubai Downtown, The Burj Al Arab, Dubai, King Abdullah International Convention Centre, Jeddah, Le Royal Meriden Abu Dhabi and the Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates.
Ensuring Quality and Excellence
Angela McAleer, Senior Executive Business & Technology Solutions at Ulster Carpets said:
“Ulster Carpets is a family owned business, with over 75 years of experience in carpet manufacturing. We are dedicated to quality, service and a pursuit of excellence.
“To achieve this level of quality, we control every part of the manufacturing process within the UK, from buying and processing the wool at our site in Dewsbury (Ulster Yarns) through to winding, dying and weaving at our Northern Ireland headquarters.”
Cost Savings
George Elliott, Business & Technology Support Supervisor at Ulster Carpets said:
“With clients and staff across the globe, we endeavour to ensure they all get the same great customer service and a team with hands on knowledge of their market. Our concern was sending out our price books which expand frequently to our staff. We wanted a solution that gave us the same care and control that we put into our manufacturing process.
“Barclay Communications helped us roll out MDM (Mobile Device Management) and we were able to push the price books down over wifi in Dubai, saving us roaming costs abroad and providing a great working solution.”
The Working Solution
Barclay Communications Mobile Device Management software is an easy to use platform to help handle the management and security of all Apple and Android mobile devices.
Chris Dollin, Enterprise Business Development Manager at Barclay Communications said:
“More than 70% of Ulster Carpet’s sales now go to export markets, with world leading venues such as the Paris Ritz, the Burj Arab Hotel in Dubai, as well as casinos in Monte Carlo and Las Vegas. Due to the extent of this work, they needed a solution that would allow them to control their devices and avoid costly roaming charges.
“Ulster Carpet’s dedicated account manager in Barclay Communications reviewed their account and bills every three months meaning they could analyse, predict and control the account, saving them money.
“With so many field based staff across the globe, Ulster Carpets needed something to help staff deliver their extensive price books without regularly having to return to the office. With MDM they were able to transfer large files through wifi which would have normally led to costly 3G and 4G charges.
“MDM allows Ulster Carpets to push files remotely to end users, making sure the user has the most up to date data in seconds. This has led into the exploration of how remote workers were functioning within the field, and they are currently looking at a streamlined way for operatives to work through our sister company, WorkPal, workflow management solution.
“We were delighted to be able to help Ulster Carpets manage their business more effectively and can’t wait to see their next project.”
