Almost 65% of 900 SME’s who were surveyed, had no idea that their communication services would be disrupted by the 2025 analogue and ISDN switch off.
It was also discovered that nearly 85% of businesses have had no visibility or warning, with 3 out of 4 businesses having done no preparation for the disruption.
Sales Director of Barclay Communications, John Roulston says, “Although 2025 seems far away, businesses need to start thinking about how they are going to navigate the potential disruption to their communication services.
He goes on to highlight, “It’s important for businesses to understand that upgrading their technology helps prevent disruption to services when the 2025 ISDN switch off happens. Moving to VoIP or implementing a SIP solution, will ensure businesses stay connected to their staff, customers and suppliers.”
He also believes the time for making a move has never been better. “We have seen that over 40% of businesses are paying almost double what they should be. What makes matters worse, is that this is for old technology. The market has never been as competitive and when the switch off starts, it puts the power back in the hands of the suppliers and those that run the infrastructure. The early adopters are most certainly the ones benefiting.”
There are various options available to businesses depending on their set-up and requirements.
“A fully cloud-hosted solution is ideal for businesses, however, we have a number of options for example SIP trunking and on-premises systems across multiple brands. So no matter how your business is set up, we will be able to help.”
