FAQs

Is this full fibre?

Yes! This is fibre to the premises (FTTP), delivered through fibreoptic cables from the exchange all the way to your location, ensuring faster, more reliable connectivity.

What is "full fibre" exactly?

We use “full fibre” to distinguish it from fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC). With FTTC, you have a fibre cable from exchange to cabinet (the green box on the road), and then copper from cabinet to your premises. With full fibre, or FTTP, it’s fibre cables all the way.

Why is full fibre superior?

It’s simple – fibre cables send more data at higher speeds than copper. So on full fibre, everything you do online (from video calls to running cloud software) is faster and smoother.

What's Project Stratum?

Project Stratum is a broadband initiative for rural Northern Ireland, managed by the Department for the Economy and delivered by our partners at Fibrus Networks. It’s designed to deliver high-speed internet in hard-to-reach premises.
